I have been a naturist at heart, for much of my life. Living in rural Ontario, I had heard of these clubs where people were able to go naked; however I was never able to find one. As I grew up, I would find time to run naked to the world in nearby forests; however life, work and family changed my priorities for a while. Eventually my naturist tendencies came back and I began shedding my clothes at home while the rest of the family was out. Eventually I ventured out and visited Hanlan’s Beach on occasion. It was there that I heard of Bare Oaks. Checking out the club online and getting a coupon for a free visit, I made my way to Bare Oaks and after a one visit I was sold and became a member.
I met many like-minded individuals and over time I heard about the FCN. Their stated goals of living in harmony, respecting others and nature rang true with my values and I looked for ways to help. After attending a FCN Festival I was approached by a couple of executive members, who asked if I was interested in joining the board. That was in 2016 when I became a board member as a Regional Director for Ontario. In addition to those duties I currently serve as VP, Club Membership Liaison and unofficial librarian for the FCN. As librarian I have organized the FCN magazine and naturist book collection. I have written articles for the Going Natural/ Au Naturel about my travels to naturist resorts titled “The Lowdown”. I look forward to the rest of time on the board.
