Hi, my name is Ruth Kelly. I live in Markham, Ontario, where my husband and I work together as Superintendents of the building in which we live. I joined the board of the FCN in September 2019 as a director at large, and serve on the Website Design Committee.
My husband and I have been members of Bare Oaks since 2012. We are also at almost every swim and event with GTA skinny-dippers. Even prior to joining either of these groups, my husband and I both separately and together have been naturists. We have gone to Hanlan's Point beach, Ponderosa Nature Resort, spent a vacation at Paradise Lakes in Florida, and did the Bare Necessities Big Nude Boat Cruise. The first place we go to for a weekend or a day off is Bare Oaks, but given the opportunity for a vacation again, we would look for it to be a naturist/nude vacation first before any other choice.
I have a 30 year background in office related experience varying from outbound/inbound sales & office administrator to office manager. In addition, I have also run my own businesses, both as side ventures and as full time self-employment. I have worked in positions that were very demanding of time, and that required me to always be on my toes with getting my own resources to make sure tasks were completed on time. My skills cover a wide area of day to day general office experience, bookkeeping and tax preparation, budget planning, investment and finance procedures, computer technical skills (which are always kept up to date), scheduling a high demand work environment and always planning ahead for future goals. I also have resources available to me to help with event planning, social media and multimedia marketing connections.
Serving on the board of the FCN follows in the footsteps of my cousin Alan Borovoy, who years ago was the general counsel of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and the founder of the Canadian and the Ontario Human Rights Commission, fighting for the rights of individuals to be accepted. Working with the FCN raises my personal involvement in naturism to the level of actively advocating it. I believe that nurturing a positive outlook towards naturism within women will increase their membership and participation, which will be good for the future of the FCN and naturism itself.
