KIM TORRANCE

I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. I am married to Joanne and we have three grown children. We will celebrate our 40th anniversary this April. Most of my working career was spent at a local newspaper where I was the distribution manager. I am semi-retired, only working during the summer so that affords us the opportunity to travel during the winter.

I have always been interested in the naturist lifestyle, but practised more openly once our children moved out. About five or six years ago Joanne and I started to source out places near our home where we could practice social nudism. Locally we found CottonTail Corner Naturist Beach, an area on the North Saskatchewan River. That same year, we heard about nude swims being held in Edmonton so we had scheduled to attend but there was a miscommunication between the pool and the group so we never got to go. Also close to home we found Helios Nudist Association where I currently sit on the board. We fell in love with the place on our first visit. We have also visited Wreck Beach in Vancouver and Willamettans in Oregon. We spent the winter of 2019/2020 at Sandpipers in Texas where our trip was cut short due to Covid. We both enjoy the lifestyle and wished that we had started earlier. Our daughter has since become interested and she has spent time with us at Helios.

This coming winter 2023, we plan on traveling across Canada in our motorhome before heading south for the winter in Texas. We are looking forward to visiting some of the clubs in Eastern Canada and the USA.
